IEC 60204-1 Standard
Safety of machinery - Electrical equipment of machines
Part 1: General requirements
The standard IEC 60204-1 covers the tests of electrical, electronic and programmable electronic equipment and systems for machines that do not exceed 1000V, direct current (D.C.) 1500V supply voltage and 200Hz operating frequency, which cannot be carried by hand while operating.
These tests LVD tests;
Earth Continuity Test
Dielectric Strength Test
Insulation Resistance Test
Earth Continuity Test
In earth continuity, the reliability of the grounding system of the test sample is checked. The resistance of each protective ground circuit between the protective ground terminal and the areas of the sample expected to be grounded is at least 0.2 A from an electrically isolated supply source with no-load 24 V alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) voltage, with a current of approximately 10 A. The test result is evaluated as passed or failed on the table containing the values specified in the standard.
Dielectric Strength Test
It is applied between the power circuit of the test sample and the protective ground circuit. The test voltage must have a rated frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The largest test voltage must be twice the value of the rated supply voltage of the test sample or a voltage value of 1000 V. The test voltage should be applied between the power circuit conductors and the protective ground circuit for approximately 1 second. In the event of a destructive discharge, standard requirements are not met.
Insulation Resistance Test
The insulation resistance measured with the 500 V direct current (D.C.) Applied between the power circuit conductors of the test sample and the ground circuit should not be less than 1 MΩ.
